I thought you might enjoy reading a letter I sent to my thirteen year old daughter for Fathers Day.

Dearest Aysia,

It is such a precious thing to be your father.

I am in awe of how intelligent and bright you are.

Adolescence…..

I can only guess what it might be like for you at this age.

What I imagine is that you feel very much a girl inside, but your body is developing far beyond what it feels like to be you emotionally at this time.

It must be awkward as hell, watching your body change, becoming more and more aware of a world gone crazy, and just wanting everyday life to be more like camp.

I, too, wish that every day was like summer camp.

Maybe, when you get to be an adult, you will find ways to have it be more like that. (I have.)

Life is meant to be fun. You can find ways of playing, being creative, and making money doing what you love to do at any age.

Being your Dad, watching and celebrating your growth, your interests, your hobbies, your art, is incredibly fun for me.

I love you sooooo much!

Please know that you can always talk to me about anything anytime.

Happy Fathers Day! I know you love me madly. (I would if I were you!)

Love Always,

Dadio
